About the role
White Star Contracting is seeking an experienced Accountant specializing in VAT and Financial Reporting to join our finance team in Dubai.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns in compliance with UAE regulations.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring timely and precise submissions.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and VAT inspections.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in VAT and financial reporting, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or CA) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
