Accountant – VAT & Financial Reporting

About the role

White Star Contracting is seeking an experienced Accountant specializing in VAT and Financial Reporting to join our finance team in Dubai.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns in compliance with UAE regulations.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring timely and precise submissions.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and VAT inspections.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in VAT and financial reporting, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
• Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or CA) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
