About the role
The immediate vacancies are with the Department of Health, Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, and Department of Transportation, Harbors and Airport Division in Downtown and Halawa to Kalihi.
Responsibilities
- Performs difficult and responsible accounting work involving supervision of a major accounting program, design and revision of a major aspect of the State accounting system, or supervision and participation in the preparation of control records and financial statements for all State funds.
Requirements
- Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
- Accounting Experience: Three and one-half (3 1/2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting at the university level.
- Supervisory Aptitude: Demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities, e.g., by serving as a group or team leader, by the completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments; and/or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.
