Duties Summary

Located in the Financial Statements Section, Uniform Accounting and Reporting Branch, Accounting Division of the Department of Accounting & General Services, this position is responsible for the coordination of the annual Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA). Duties and responsibilities include interpreting the Federal Office of Management and Budget pronouncements, preparing instructions and SEFA data packages, analyzing and consolidating financial information, drafting financial statements and notes, and providing SEFA data input training to departmental personnel. This position also assists the Section Chief in coordinating the preparation of the State's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
  • Professional Accounting Experience: Three and one-half (3 1/2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting at the university level.
  • Fund Control Experience: One (1) year of professional work experience interpreting and applying governmental accounting and reporting requirements and pronouncements, and analyzing and preparing governmental financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Such experience may have been gained concurrently or separately in meeting the Minimum Qualification Requirements for the class Accountant V.
  • Evidence of having passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination may be substituted for the Fund Control experience requirement.
  • Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements may apply.
