About the role
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) seeks to hire an Accountant Trainee. This position is part of the Accountant Trainee classification and is subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Support budget preparation and analysis.
- Conduct financial audits and reviews.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Experience in accounting or finance preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- One year of full-time experience in accounting or finance.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits
This position is subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which temporarily reduces monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. The salary range shown does not reflect the salary reduction.
Pay
$4,442.00 - $5,296.00 per month
