Accountant, Sr. (Remote)

About the Role

The Senior Accountant will be the company's first in-house accounting hire, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. This role is responsible for managing core accounting operations, financial reporting, bookkeeping, tax and compliance activities, audit support, and general ledger management while helping establish scalable financial processes to support the company's rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Summarize financial information through accurate data collection and analysis.
• Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports.
• Analyze accounting data and provide financial insights.
• Avoid errors in financial reporting.
• Perform general ledger accounting activities.
• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions.
• Process periodic financial closings.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and standards.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Support tax preparation and compliance activities.
• Ensure accurate financial documentation for audit readiness.
• Work closely with the Head of Finance on accounting initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders during audits.
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned.
• Contribute to building scalable accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Three to five years of accounting experience in a medium to large organization.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with finance professionals at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.
• Experience with financial reporting and budgeting processes.
