Accountant, Revenue Accounting

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support revenue accounting operations for a fast-paced, collaborative team on a 5-month temporary assignment. This role offers hands-on experience with month-end and quarter-end close activities, SOX control workbooks, reconciliations, and revenue-focused accounting processes. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain SOX control workbooks, validating source data and tying supporting schedules to the general ledgerSupport replacement deal reviews by comparing quote terms to sales order and line details and identifying discrepancies for reviewAssist with debook processing, including calculation preparation and reconciliation to supporting documentation and system dataExecute monthly accounting activities in NetSuite, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and close deliverablesReview work carefully for completeness and accuracy before handoff, ensuring documentation is clear and audit-readySupport revenue close validations by pulling and reconciling data from NetSuite and SalesforceHelp prepare supporting schedules for quarterly AR and revenue footnotesRaise questions, blockers, and timing risks early with thoughtful recommendations or clear follow-up needsContribute to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as needed Skills 3+ years of relevant accounting or revenue accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceWorking knowledge of U.S. GAAPUnderstanding of ASC 606 and SOX controlsStrong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation, and working with large data setsExcellent attention to detail and a consistent habit of checking work before submissionClear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate next steps and needs conciselyAbility to manage deadlines, incorporate feedback quickly, and stay organized in a fast-moving environmentHands-on experience using Google Workspace tools Preferred Skills Experience in public accounting or with a public companySaaS industry accounting experienceExposure to NetSuite and SalesforceFamiliarity with supporting AR and revenue footnote schedulesProactive, learning-oriented mindset Horizontal is committed to fostering a workplace where diversity, equity, and inclusion are valued and supported.
