Accountant – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily general ledger and accounting activities.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and account analysis.
• Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Monitor invoices, payments, expenses, and supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support audit and tax preparation activities.
• Ensure transactions comply with company accounting policies and GAAP.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and management regarding accounting issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting or related financial experience.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger, Journal Entries, Reconciliations, AP/AR, and Month-End Close.
• Experience with Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis.
• Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
• Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis.
• CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
• Experience supporting audits and tax activities.
• Remote accounting/finance experience.
