Accountant (Providence Community Management)

Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area. With almost 20 years of development experience and over 1,700 residential units developed to date, Providence has taken over the property management functions of Christopher Homes, Inc. and is proud to add their 60-year history of excellence to our team managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments. We focus on the production and preservation of affordable housing and empowering strong communities.

We are seeking a full-time Accountant to join our Central Office Team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including reconciling balances of general ledgers and making necessary adjustments for assigned portfolio of properties.
• Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
• Function as cross‑trained support for Accounts Payable, processing and managing incoming invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments for one or more properties.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and verify payment details.
• Support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and cash flow.
• Work closely with team members and regulatory representatives on budget renewals and funding requests, offering support and fostering a strong sense of team and community while keeping detailed records and ensuring compliance with housing regulations.
• Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming environment for seniors by making a positive impact on residents and staff.

Requirements
