Accountant, Operations Accounting

The Operations Accountant will be responsible for day‑to‑day accounting functions for approximately 4‑6 operational and/or construction‑phase energy power production plants and related entities, including closing the books and records for all accounting entities related to these plants.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including all monthly journal entries, to verify account balances for accuracy and reasonableness.
• Prepare project account reconciliation workbooks to support balance sheet and income statement balances and activity.
• Ensure accuracy of all general ledger information for the entire chart of accounts for all assigned projects.
• Support Asset Managers and Portfolio Finance Managers to maintain compliance with project debt and equity agreements.
• Assist with annual audit work papers and audit report preparation.
• Coordinate project treasury, banking, and cash flow analysis.
• Coordinate and take ownership of project issues with Asset Managers, Project Managers, and Finance professionals.
• Assist Asset Managers in the annual project budgeting process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Existing understanding and knowledge of GAAP.
• Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Skills

• Multi‑site organization or public accounting firm experience (preferred).
• Experience in power plants or utilities (preferred, not required).
• Experience with Oracle (preferred, not required).
• Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly, and annual department‑driven deadlines.
• Strong coordination and organization skills with attentiveness to timelines.
• Understanding of variance/trend analysis with actual, budget, and historical results.
• Strong interpersonal skills – able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Responsible, dependable, and possessing an exceptional work ethic.

Pay

Base Pay: $72,000 – $95,000 USD annually. Annual Bonus: 15% of base salary. The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position; final offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and skills. Additional bonus eligibility details will be shared by the recruiter during the hiring process.

Schedule
