Accountant - Non-Profit

A growing non-profit organization supporting a great cause seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented Permanent Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries and bank reconciliation in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, memos, invoices and other documents.
• Handle monthly and annual close process.
• Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
• Oversee accounting activities for the accuracy and completeness of all financial data.
• Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with preparation for annual audits.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage financial audits.
• Provide support to the finance team during budgeting and financial planning process.
• Ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• CPA or progress towards obtaining CPA certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit or church environment.
• Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

$50,000 - $70,000 per year
