Accountant Manager (DD0020001-071026)
Job Duties
This is a high-level position which will function as a Director of Regional Business Operations, coordinating all functions related to Regional Business Office positions.
- Direct and coordinate statewide Regional Business Office operations, including policy development, implementation, and best-practice standardization across all regions.
- Supervise 5 Fiscal Managers with 61 staff, overseeing budget and personnel allocations, and all Business Office functions.
- Manage facility operations for 11 locations, including fleet, technology, maintenance, procurement, and reimbursements.
- Oversee Representative Payee responsibilities, ensuring compliance with Social Security regulations and successful audits.
- Provide technical guidance to regional staff, executive leadership, other state agencies, contracted partners, and external stakeholders; recommend and refine financial policies.
- Lead provider billing training, maintain statewide billing matrices, and serve as escalation point for Waivered service billing issues.
- Act as liaison between Central Office and Regional Offices, supporting statewide initiatives and contributing subject-matter expertise on new projects.
- Advise the Deputy Director on financial policy and oversee Utilization Review budget processes, training, and implementation.
Skills
This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage and collaborate across multiple projects, and effective problem-solving of complex issues. It also requires skill in interpreting and applying regulations, policies, and fiscal procedures, along with accuracy in preparing and analyzing financial documents. The role demands the ability to present technical information clearly, evaluate federal and state initiatives for fiscal impact, and adapt to changing regulations. Additional strengths include drafting and assessing fiscal policies, explaining complex financial matters in an understandable way, applying sound managerial principles, and demonstrating well-developed analytical skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
