Accountant: IV (Hybrid)

Duration: 8 months (possibility of extension or full-time employment). Hybrid role based in Glen Allen, VA 23060.

About the role

We partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines and assist in the development and execution of Investment strategies. As a member of the Fixed Income Accounting team, you will hold primary responsibility for the preparation and review of accounting processes to ensure the company appropriately records accounting entries and reports accounting results in accordance with US GAAP and US Statutory regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for all Fixed Income investments across multiple accounting bases.
• Transaction processing and balance reconciliations.
• Prepare assigned accounting tasks (e.g., monthly reconciliations, journal entries, income and asset allocation, pricing analytics) and perform all applicable SOX Controls for owned processes.
• Support the preparation of internal and external U.S. GAAP and Statutory reporting.
• Act as a value-add resource for opportunities, delivering analytical critical thinking, bringing order to unstructured problems, and breaking down complexities into actionable components.
• Research and review accounting guidance to assess existing processes, identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes.

Requirements

• CPA or other relevant certification(s).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related discipline.
• 2–5 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Prior experience with monthly/quarterly accounting close processes.
• Collaborative mindset to work across the team to ensure successful execution of deliverables.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to successfully navigate conflicts.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and multi-task to meet critical business timelines.

Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot).
• Prior experience with account reconciliations, exception management, and resolution.

Pay

$45.00 – $47.00 hourly on W2.
