About the role
The Accountant II plays a crucial role in the Department of Student Accounts, supporting the mission of serving and supporting a racially and ethnically diverse campus community. This role involves providing high-quality customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and managing student accounts.
Responsibilities
- Counsels current and prospective students and families regarding financing options and financial policies.
- Processes payments and issues receipts.
- Reviews accounts for accuracy.
- Completes financial forms and documents.
- Distributes refunds.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
Requirements
- At least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in accounting or auditing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to understand, apply, and explain relevant laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Mathematical skills to solve accounting problems and analyze data.
- Record-keeping and report-writing abilities.
- Discretion in handling confidential information.

Pay
\$2,224.42 Bi-weekly (Grade 16, Step 1)
Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:45 AM-5:00 PM (Sat. and Sun. as days off)
