What You Will Be Doing The Accounting team has an opening for an Accountant in the Electronic Banking Department. This position is located at National Services Center in Phoenix, AZ. Main Responsibilities Oversee the gift card desk activity and support the accounting clerk Perform as functional lead for the gift card applications and the ReconNet transaction matching applicationCoordinate with the gift card clerk to perform analysis, reconciliations, and book journal entries for first party gift cardsPrepare periodic account reconciliations and support staff with their account reconciliationsPerform closing activities including journal entries, allocations, accruals and analysisSupport team members on all interface file issuesCreate standard and ad hoc reports utilizing various applications: SQL, Access, Excel, ODBC queries, OracleTake the lead on tasks requiring research, organization, communication, and problem resolutionCoordinate with associates to identify process efficienciesResponsible for coordinating and ensuring all tasks are completed on timeResponsible for providing guidance to internal/external customersFacilitate audits conducted by internal/external entitiesTrain and assist team members in specific accounting tasks and in the use of systems We Are Looking For Candidates Who Possess The Following Four-year college degree in accounting or business Ideal candidate will have three or more years’ accounting experience in a larger organization with mainframe-based accounting systemsStrong theoretical and practical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesIntermediate level PC skills with knowledge of Windows and Microsoft software applicationsSuperior customer service attitude and interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh degree of accuracy, initiative, and adaptabilityDetail oriented with solid analytical skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlinesSelf-motivated and ability to complete tasks with a minimum amount of supervisionHonest and trustworthy, exhibiting sound business ethics We Also Provide a Variety Of Benefits Including Competitive wages paid weekly Access to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with StreamAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
