Job Responsibilities
- Aid with monthly close and reporting processes
- Prepare daily, month-end close, and ad hoc journal entries, calculations, analysis, and reporting for moderately complex accounting transactions
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations, research variances, and correct discrepancies
- Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure proper accounting treatment and necessary adjustments are applied
- Exercise good judgment and strong professional skills in the preparation of accounting records and reporting consistent with GAAP, standard methodologies, and company policies
- Embrace teamwork while also working independently; serve as a resource to other team members
- Support accounts payable functions
- Assist with monthly financial statement preparation
- Perform variance analysis and assist in the creation and preparation of management reports
- Exhibit problem solving and resolution skills
- Assist with various accounting projects; run ad hoc calculations and analysis when requested
- Document, report, and follow through on recommendations from projects
- Interact with various teams on project initiatives and accounting-related items
- Aid in the preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes, and other periodic external reporting
- Aid in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, ALCO reporting, and regulatory reporting
- Participate in financial and operational audits and regulatory exams
- Develop and communicate solutions for continuous process improvements
- Manage expectations through consistent and timely updates
- Ensure internal control compliance and adherence to all accounting policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with an emphasis in accounting, CPA preferred
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services, banking, or public accounting
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts and strong knowledge of GAAP
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work and deliver under deadline constraints and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently with initiative and appropriate supervision as well as to work closely with others
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Effective interaction with various divisions and levels of management throughout the company
- Excellent computer and technology skills, including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

Compensation range for this role is $50,000-$80,000 annually depending on experience.
