Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with major coursework in accounting or finance
- Three (3) years of accounting experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fund accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CFPO) license, or in the process of obtaining
- Experience with Oracle or WorkDay
Experience
- Develops and recommends financial policies, procedures, and standards
- Enters line-item transfers and budget amendments, as needed
- Reviews and submits Commissioner’s Court agenda items
- Aids in the preparation of financial reports
- Performs cash drawer, liability account, and bank reconciliations
- Generates and posts mass allocation after each payday
- Provides financial assistance to various county departments
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performs special duties as assigned
Responsibilities
- Provides fiscal agent services to CAMPO
- Bills for services and enters and reconciles Parks activity to the subledger accounting system
- Aids in FEMA/State reimbursement claims
- Tracks CAMPO local funds received and reimbursements
- Tracks/keeps record of county leases
- Calculates and prepares cost estimate report; prepares budget
- Calculates and prepares accounts receivables and deferred revenue
- Prepares annual budget, expenditures, and cost-share fund reports for Texas Agriculture Extension
Organizational Relationships
- Reports directly to – Assistant Financial Director
- Direct Reports – No
Physical Demands
- Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
Environmental Factors
- Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
- Regular travel between work sites as required
Irregular Hours
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
