Accountant II

About the role

ONEOK is looking for an Accountant II to join the Refined Products and Crude (RPC) Financial Reporting team. This position reports to the RPC Financial Reporting Manager and helps ensure financial results are accurate and complete.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and/or prepare journal entries, reports, budgets, and records related to financial accounting, gas accounting, or economic forecasting/budgeting
• Perform calculations and/or analyses including but not limited to: Interest, Cash flow, Financial ratios, Pressure base/Btu conversions, Discounts, Variances, Depreciations (book/tax), Projections/forecasts
• Compile, verify, and/or prepare financial information including but not limited to: Forecasted versus actual expenses, Governmental/regulatory reports, Invoices, Financial reports, Reconciliation reports, Quarterly income statements
• Provide information and assistance to employees from governmental and/or regulatory agencies, auditing firms, management, and others concerning accounting processes and various financial reports
• Assist in development and maintenance of applicable spreadsheet models and/or distributed applications such as those used in finance and other accounting activities
• Work with finance, accounting, and commercial teams during the monthly close process to research issues, resolve discrepancies, and support timely and accurate reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and ensure work is completed in compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or other related field with previous experience working in various accounting functions or equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience:
• Experience with and knowledge of generally accepted accounting methods and procedures
• Experience performing an intermediate level of accounting activities such as financial accounting, property accounting, account classification, or gas accounting
• Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
• Experience and/or training related to: Financial accounting and reporting standards and processes (specified by position), Economic forecasting/modeling and corporate budget functions (specified by position), Gas accounting activities and terminology (specified by position)

• Accounting Work Experience

• Experience and/or training related to: Financial accounting and reporting standards and processes (specified by position), Economic forecasting/modeling and corporate budget functions (specified by position), Gas accounting activities and terminology (specified by position)

Pay and Benefits

Expected Salary Range $68,000.00 - $102,000.00
