Main Purpose of Job:

The main purpose of this position is to assist the fiscal department with financial accounting responsibilities, including performing asset management activities related to inventory. This position will assist with revising fiscal processes, credentialing, year-end closing and audits. This position will also support succession planning by learning the Fiscal Chief's duties.

About the Role

This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and an educational background in accounting. The selected candidate must possess one year of experience with current accounting practices related to data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with revising fiscal processes
  • Credentialing
  • Year-end closing and audits
  • Support succession planning by learning the Fiscal Chief's duties
  • Perform asset management activities related to inventory
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Analyze monthly expenditures and fixed assets

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.
  • Experience: One year of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards.
  • Experience preparing journal entries.
  • Experience analyzing monthly expenditures and fixed assets.
