Accountant I

About the role

The Accountant I supports Germania’s accounting operations by performing essential tasks related to financial reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Gathering and preparing financial data to maintain the general ledger for all Germania entities.
• Preparing bank reconciliations and ensuring accuracy across assigned accounts.
• Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including the NAIC Quarterly and Annual Statement.
• Completing personal auto statistical filings and verifying data submitted to statistical agents and Call Reports.
• Preparing estimated tax calculations for periodic remittance and financial statement recording.
• Compiling information and documentation requested by internal and external auditors.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; equivalent experience with a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems preferred.
