About the Location

In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking, and more. Several educational institutions are also nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting and reporting duties primarily focused on the accounting close process, including recording journal entries, performing financial analysis, and account reconciliations.
• Complete assigned duties as part of the accounting close process, applying knowledge of accounting policies and procedures to tasks such as recording journal entries and performing research and analysis.
• Perform analysis and reconciliation through system queries, research, investigation of reconciling items, and resolution.
• Analyze, interpret, and communicate to supervisor any action items or variances identified in the month-end close and analytical process.
• Assist in accounting and reporting activities and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, including two (2) years in prolonged intellectual instruction (certifications, instructed training, or on-the-job training) in Accounting or Finance; OR
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area and two (2) years of professional experience in accounting; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area.

Pay

The estimated annual pay range for this role is $58,000–$78,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
