Accountant I

About the role

The Finance team at Duravent Group is seeking an Accountant I. This role is hybrid and based within a commutable distance to the Grand Rapids, Michigan office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records, ledgers, and reports.
• Assist with general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
• Support internal audits and financial reviews as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accounting software.
• Aid in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Respond to inquiries from internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Support the finance team in ad-hoc projects and analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Two years of accounting experience preferred, including internships or other entry-level experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPA certification not required but preferred.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role with occasional trips to the Kentwood, MI office space.
