Accountant - Fixed Assets

Support the Senior Accountant – FA Supervisor in ensuring the data integrity of the sub-ledger and prepare statistical and analytical work papers for internal and external parties. Maintain and adhere to existing controls, policies, and procedures for accurate financial statements and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Responsibilities

• Proactively communicate with internal and external business partners.
• Collaborate with IT to accurately capitalize project expenditures upon completion.
• Reconcile and analyze various Capital Projects and research discrepancies.
• Prepare analytical work papers including Corporate Tax schedules, audit schedules, monthly variance schedules, and roll-forwards.
• Seek process improvements and controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Answer store financial questions for assigned districts.
• Perform analysis on asset base and coordinate asset transfers/retirements with business partners.
• Review coding of capital expenditure invoices and transfer/retirement batches; assist in processing invoices during high-volume periods.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and analyze asset-level changes.
• Perform monthly journal entries including accruals, re-classes, and adjustments.
• Research and resolve FA Clearing Account balances.
• Participate in special projects, such as testing Oracle Projects and Oracle Fixed Asset modules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 0 to 2 years of accounting experience.
• Exposure to U.S. GAAP and SOX.
• Proficient in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Accountancy.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with Oracle Financials or other large ERP systems.
