About the role

The Fixed Asset Accountant oversees the financial reporting, tracking, and compliance of the company's fixed assets. This position is responsible for recording asset acquisitions, tracking Construction-in-Progress (CIP) accounts, executing depreciation schedules, and managing asset disposals. The role closely collaborates with project managers, procurement teams, and external auditors to ensure strict adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This is a hybrid position requiring on-site attendance a minimum of two days per week in Norcross, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Process and record all fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, transfers, impairments, and disposals.
  • Review operational purchase orders and invoices to determine whether expenditure should be expensed or capitalized.
  • Plan, execute, and reconcile periodic physical audits of plant equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
  • Reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger and prepare monthly roll-forward schedules.
  • Prepare detailed fixed asset and depreciation schedules for internal and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or management.
  • Manufacturing background is preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Accounting systems knowledge (SAP and JDE preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrate effective communication (verbal, written) skills.
  • Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information.
  • Strict adherence to Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit all aspects of Lightera “Standards of Conduct.”
