Accountant - Bank Accounting - Salt Lake City

About the role

The Bank Accounting team provides the accounting for Zions Bancorporation’s affiliate companies, month end close and consolidation of company general ledgers, recording of daily cash transactions, monthly income and expense accruals, reconciliations and research of nightly process clearing general ledgers, and accounting support for the bank's business units. We also collaborate with the bank's internal and external auditors to provide supporting documentation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Research and clear daily general ledger outstanding items
• Maintain subledgers for various asset and liability accounts
• Test and document Sarbanes-Oxley controls throughout the year
• Cross-train to provide back-up and support for other group members
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, or comparable work experience
• Knowledge of GAAP preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office, and with Oracle EBS a plus
• Self-starter with a positive and team player attitude
• Works independently, adopts well to changes, and can work under tight deadlines
