Accountant

About the role
Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Accountant to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, process invoices, and reconcile bank statements against the general ledger
- Support company purchasing functions including Purchase Order processing and Requisition approvals
- Prepare and maintain key financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Conduct internal audits to verify data accuracy and rectify discrepancies; assist with external audits
- Analyze past financial performance to develop budgets, forecast future trends, and suggest cost-reduction strategies
- Support key payroll functions, including payroll processing, expense reimbursements, and payroll tax reconciliations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong problem-solving skills to spot discrepancies, assess financial risks, and analyze business trends
- Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables) and accounting platforms like QuickBooks or NetSuite
- Deep understanding of accounting standards (like GAAP) and current tax legislation
- Translates complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or applicant
- Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Schedule
Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; remote work is optional on Mondays and Fridays.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Pay
The anticipated salary band for this position is $75,000-$90,000. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
