About the position
Serves as a senior staff Accountant and assistant to the Accounting Officer. Incumbent individually or as a member of the Finance and Accounting team ensures the quality and integrity of the district's financial management program.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and analyzes financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Prepares and reviews financial reports and statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Oversees the preparation of financial forecasts and budget analyses.
- Assists in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to financial transactions.
- Collaborates with other departments to resolve complex accounting issues and provide financial guidance.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or a related field.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with financial software and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Current CPA certification preferred.
- Experience working in a public accounting firm or governmental entity is highly desirable.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $95,000 annually.
