Accountant

Job Summary

As an Accountant, you will supervise, track, and evaluate day-to-day activities. Accountant responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information. This position will work closely with the financial management team.

Responsibilities

• Month-end and year-end close processes
• Process accounts payable/accounts receivable
• Record cash receipts and transactions
• Record payroll
• Perform financial variance analysis
• Project accounting
• Fixed asset accounting and reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Auxiliary duties include assisting in preparation of financial statements, tracking and recording debt activity, establishing and maintaining accounting processes, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proven working experience as Accountant 2+ years of accounting experience performing journal entries and reconciliations
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and high work standards
• Strong organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and be able to quickly adapt to changes and shift priorities to meet project needs and deadlines

Location

Hybrid in Houston, Texas (4 days in office, Fridays remote)
