Responsibilities
- Reconcile accounts by reviewing financial transactions and aligning system reports with source documentation.
- Prepare and deliver detailed financial statements reflecting monthly activity, including section-level and consolidated reports.
- Identify and communicate discrepancies for resolution and appropriate approval.
- Maintain departmental accounts and spending activity, process budget and cost transfers, and prepare requisitions and invoices within PeopleSoft.
- Support daily financial operations by managing deposits and maintaining accurate records of transactions, contracts, and agreements.
- Collaborate with departments, principal investigators, and vendors to provide guidance on financial matters, ensuring appropriate use of funds and adherence to policies and contractual obligations.
- Conduct financial analyses to support reporting needs, improve processes, and inform decision-making.
- Participate in the annual budget preparation process.
- Maintain the accuracy and quality of financial data through regular review and investigation of discrepancies.
- Serve as a payroll coordinator or backup to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science or Bachelor's of Arts Degree with a minimum of 18 hours of accounting coursework.
