Essential functions
- Aid with accounts payable, including invoice entry, purchase order preparation, cash disbursements, vendor statement reconciliation, etc.
- Aid with accounts receivable, including billing, collection calls, cash receipts, etc.
- Prepare daily cash reconciliations, deposits and weekly cash requirements reports
- Prepare weekly job cost reports and collaborate with program management to align cost and revenue on specific jobs
- Support the Accounting Manager by classifying, recording, and computing financial data
- Audit and reconcile company credit card statements
- Coordinate and execute projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager, along with other members of the company leadership team as needed
- Oversee the overall functionality of the office by ordering supplies, setting up and maintaining services
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including answering phones, copying/faxing, greeting visitors and directing them to appropriate areas of the facility, scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and coordinating meeting logistics
- Maintain employee files
- Absorb new hire orientation
- Absorb the administration of employee health and welfare benefits
Required competency, education, and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of accounting experience, including manufacturing cost accounting, and sound understanding of all general ledger activities (AP, AR, Payroll, etc.)
- Strong understanding of information technologies and computerized systems
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, oral, and written communication skills
- Results-driven personality and ability to plan and achieve department goals
- Self-motivated with the ability to demonstrate sound judgment and resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Physical Demands
- High manual dexterity of hands and fingers
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to use a computer for a prolonged amount of time
- Ability to move or lift files and boxes up to 20 pounds
Work environment
- Office setting within a manufacturing environment
Position type and expected hours of work
- Full time, Monday-Friday. 40 hours per week
