Accountant

About This Role

You will be the first dedicated finance hire at Soledad. You will own the books, set up the financial controls a growing AI company needs, and partner with leadership on budgeting and unit economics.

What you will do

• Manage the general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll cycles.
• Run a clean monthly close and produce financial reports for leadership.
• Cook with external auditors and tax advisors on quarterly and annual filings.
• Implement scalable controls, expense policies, and approval workflows.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and SaaS unit economics.

What we are looking for

• CPA or actively pursuing licensure.
• 4+ years accounting experience, ideally including a tech or services startup.
• Fluent with QuickBooks Online, Gusto/Rippling, Stripe, and modern expense tools.
• Strong sense of ownership and a bias for documented, repeatable processes.
• Nice to have: Experience with R&D tax credits and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606).
