Accountant
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting activities across payables, receivables, and general ledger functions to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and supported by proper documentation.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Aid in the preparation of financial reports and perform analysis to support informed business decisions.
- Maintain schedules related to accruals, amortization, and fixed asset depreciation to support month-end and ongoing accounting processes.
- Review account activity, identify inconsistencies, and take corrective action to improve accuracy and compliance.
- Support closing activities by organizing records, validating balances, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, including recent hands-on work in a detail-focused setting.
- Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
- Ability to prepare journal entries and complete bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
- Experience producing financial reports and analyzing accounting data for accuracy and completeness.
- Familiarity with accounting software and standard financial systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies effectively.
