Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a contract engagement supporting a growing organization in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. This position is ideal for someone with strong core accounting knowledge who can step into a fast-moving environment, bring structure to financial records, and help keep month-end activities on track. The role will focus on general ledger accuracy, cash activity, reconciliations, and cleanup of complex accounting records tied to newly added business entities. Responsibilities:• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, preparing entries, and ensuring financial records are complete and accurate.• Oversee prepaid account activity, monitor cash balances, and perform regular bank reconciliations to support reliable reporting.• Assist with month-end close processes in partnership with accounting leadership and external controllership support.• Analyze and organize accounting records from acquired entities, identify discrepancies, and align balances across multiple sets of books.• Support the reconciliation of legacy financial data and help determine the proper treatment and placement of transactions.• Contribute to accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed to keep daily accounting operations running smoothly.• Help improve the consistency of financial reporting within a cloud-based accounting environment, including systems such as NetSuite when applicable.• Take on additional accounting projects that support integration efforts, reporting accuracy, and operational finance needs. *Please note that all candidates are required to provide 2 recent supervisor or manager references in order to be considered for employment. Please submit your resume and call 651-293-3973 for review and consideration. • Strong hands-on experience in staff or general accounting with solid knowledge of general ledger processes. • Proven ability to prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy. • Experience managing bank reconciliations, cash activity, and prepaid accounts in an accounting setting that requires close attention to detail. • Working knowledge of both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Ability to review complex or incomplete accounting records, identify issues, and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms is preferred; exposure to NetSuite or similar systems is a plus. • Comfortable working in a contract role within a fast-paced environment that includes multiple concurrent priorities.
