Responsibilities
- Lead key elements of the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and validating financial results before final review.
- Oversee general ledger activity to maintain accurate records and ensure transactions are properly classified in accordance with accounting standards.
- Review accounts payable activity for accuracy and monitor receivable balances to help maintain strong cash flow visibility and control.
- Produce financial analyses, variance explanations, and supporting schedules that help management understand business performance.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting by compiling data, verifying balances, and preparing required documentation.
- Partner with internal and external auditors by gathering requested materials, answering questions, and supporting audit readiness efforts.
- Examine contracts, agreements, and related financial documents to identify accounting considerations and support proper treatment.
- Recommend workflow enhancements and assist with special assignments that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and overall accounting operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, including work with month-end close and general ledger activities.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and sound understanding of core accounting principles and controls.
- Hands-on experience preparing journal entries, adjusting entries, bank reconciliations, and account analyses.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, along with practical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to investigate variances, interpret financial data, and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with teams across the organization.
