Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Contract Accountant to join our Finance team. This role involves assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, managing revenue recognition, overseeing accounts payable, accruals, and fixed assets, and driving finance system implementations and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual close - journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, including subscription and multi-period arrangements
• Oversee AP, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
• Aid in financial statements and internal management reports
• Support annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors
• Drive finance system implementations and workflow automation
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner with operations, finance, and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses
• Support benefits administration as the team grows
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and help us scale

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience at an accounting firm, preferably with SaaS clients
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting practices
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite
• Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills
• CPA certification and a degree in Accounting or Finance
• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up sleeves and work hands-on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
