Responsibilities
- Cash Visibility & Liquidity Stewardship: Master daily cash flow, perform bank reconciliations in NetSuite, and partner with the billing team to ensure accurate customer payment application. Provide leadership with real-time insights into net cash position and working capital.
- Expense Platform & Policy Leadership: Own the administration of Relay’s expense (Navan) and corporate card platform (Brex). Streamline employee onboarding/offboarding, curate spending policies, monitor adherence, and identify trends or unusual activity.
- Accounting Liaison to FP&A and People Services: Serve as the steward of payroll-related activity in NetSuite. Ensure payroll data is accurately reflected and translated into departmental headcount spend for proper allocation.
- Financial Reporting & Ledger Maintenance: Own the full lifecycle of assigned balance sheet accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and bank reconciliations for a timely and accurate month-end close in accordance with US GAAP.
- People Services Collaboration: Partner with People Services to ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions in NetSuite, maintaining clean GL records and financial statement accuracy.
- FP&A Partnership & OpEx Allocation: Collaborate with FP&A to ensure operating expenses are accurately allocated and reported by department (G&A, Sales & Marketing, R&D).
- Billing Department Collaboration: Partner with billing to ensure timely, accurate application of customer payments, supporting financial integrity and cash visibility.
- Audit Support: Lead internal and external audit requests for assigned areas, providing well-documented workpapers and timely support.
- T&E Platform and Policy Administration: Serve as the primary administrator for Relay’s corporate T&E card program and Navan platform. Partner with stakeholders on policy compliance, card management, and monthly transaction approvals.
- Systems & Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with Accounting and IT to optimize third-party application integrations (expense management, payroll, close automation) with NetSuite.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to improve productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience (internship experience in corporate or public accounting is a plus).
- Technical Standards: Strong foundational understanding of US GAAP.
Preferred Qualifications
- Progress toward Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Direct experience navigating and utilizing NetSuite.
- Prior experience with payroll system reporting.
- Experience with financial close automation platforms (e.g., FloQast, Numeric, NetClose) and modern T&E platforms; familiarity with Navan is a strong plus.
