Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting various business functions, and contributing to the overall success of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical ability and strong communication skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare general journal entries with complete supporting documentation. (reviewed by Controller)Prepare and maintain balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly. (reviewed by Controller)Maintain recurring schedules and continuity schedules supporting the general ledger. (reviewed by Controller)Assist in preparing financial statements, account analyses, and budget-to-actual and period-over-period variance explanationsSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process in accordance with established deadlinesPartner with operations and supply-chain personnel to ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory and operating costsAssist with year-end audit requirementsAssist with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions as neededMaintain Fixed Assets subledger and related processesSupport maintenance of policies and procedures documentationUtilize Microsoft Excel to work with and analyze financial data and support business decisionsMaintain a high level of professionalism and clear communication while interacting with internal stakeholders and external partnersAdapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environmentPursue ongoing professional development and training opportunities Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; an associate’s degree combined with substantial relevant accounting experience may be consideredTwo or more years of accounting experience preferredWorking knowledge of GAAPExperience with IFRS preferredBackground in public accounting or auditing is preferredExperience in the mining, manufacturing, or construction industry is highly desirableProficiency in Microsoft Excel and office suiteExperience working with an integrated ERP and financial-reporting environmentStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
