About the role
You will serve as an expert on the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (NERP) accounting system and provide technical guidance on the financial, procurement, and inventory systems used by the department.
Responsibilities
- Perform studies and analysis related to financial requirements, contracting procedures, and inventory management practices.
- Apply accounting principles, theories, concepts and practices in new ways to solve problems where no clear precedent exists.
- Cook with Accountants and Financial Management Analysts in the Material Accountability Department to discuss problems and resolutions for system issues.

Qualifications
- In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Advising or administering, supervising, or performing professional accounting work that requires application of accounting theories, concepts, principles, and standards to the financial activities of governmental, quasigovernmental, or private sector organizations.

This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
