ACCOUNTANT

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis, accounting, audit readiness, and payment validation.
• Support pre-validation of vendor and contract payments by reviewing denied MOCAS, TFO, and TBO transactions.
• Perform accounting functions by reviewing SF 1081 packages, preparing SF 1034 miscellaneous payments, and supporting Budget Execution Validation (BEV) for General Fund (GENF) and Working Capital Fund (WCF) activities.
• Review and analyze asset-related financial reporting, processes, documentation, and data.
• Manage the controls testing and substantive testing with the NAVAIR Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) Team and NAVAIR stakeholders.
• Communicate with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Research unmatched transactions, prepare financial adjustments, support internal controls, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Process invoices and receipts; maintain records; coordinate with reconciliation teams; and prepare pre-validation packages.
• Develop process flows and memorandums; and ensure internal controls are implemented to mitigate financial statement risks and support audit readiness.
