Accountant

Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Prepare financial reports, balance sheets and profit and loss statements
• Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts and other financial data
• Aid with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Support audit preparation and provide required financial documentation
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and applicable standards
• Contribute to process improvements and team initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• At least 2 years of general accounting experience
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• CPA licence or current CPA studies is an advantage but not required
• Knowledge of Australian taxation is a plus
