We are expanding our accounting team and seeking an Accountant to support plant operations and financial reporting at our Hagerstown, MD facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions and ensure timely processing of expense reports
• Prepare budget forecasts and publish financial statements in time
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments and compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Report on the company's financial health and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
• Oversee the processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, and maintain the general ledger

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience of 3+ years as an Accountant
• Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other accounting software
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, including account reconciliation, general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

Pay

$75,000 - $90,000 per year
