Accountant
Position Summary
Support the accounting/finance operations by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with the close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role plays a key part in inventory accounting, cost tracking, and financial reporting, working closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and manufacturing-related transactions
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Perform account reconciliations (including inventory, COGS, and manufacturing overhead accounts) and resolve discrepancies
- Support inventory accounting, including tracking raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Partner with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to support those departments and fill in as necessary
- Help maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate classification of transactions
- Aid in external/internal audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls, including SOX (if applicable)
- Identify process improvements in accounting workflows and reporting
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, corporate, or multi-entity environment
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
- Experience with internal controls, audits, and process improvement initiatives is a plus
What You’ll Receive
- As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time
