Accountant

Larry J Wolfe Ltd, a public accounting firm in Skokie, is seeking an Accountant to join our team. The company was established in 1982 and offers accounting, tax preparation, tax planning, and tax controversy services to clients. Larry Wolfe, CPA, was honored in 2024 with the Illinois CPA Society Lifetime Achievement Award and has been recognized as one of the best CPAs in Illinois by Forbes magazine in 2025 and 2026.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business income tax returns
• Prepare bank reconciliations (QuickBooks & manually)
• Prepare quarterly payroll reports
• Prepare year-end related accounting entries
• Data entry related to bookkeeping into accounting software
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliation
• Tax-oriented tasks
• Client contact
• Ability to manage and work with strict deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly detail-oriented

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance (related field preferred)
• 1–5 years of experience in public accounting
• Proficiency in Lacerte, QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and confident
• Strong work ethics
