Job Type: Full-time, onsite located in Sullivan Illinois Salary: Commensurate with experience Benefits: Link for Benefits and Pay Range or copy the following in a browser https://www.hydro-gear.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Accountant.pdf Core Responsibilities Of Our Accountant This role offers the opportunity to influence how accounting operations scale, improve automation, and support leadership decision-making across the organization while working in several capacities and providing support in key areas: Financial Reporting & General Ledger Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly financial statements Lead month-end close activities and key balance sheet reconciliations Monitor the general ledger for unusual activity, coding inaccuracies, and posting issues Consolidate financial results and provide variance insights to leadership Fixed Assets & Capital Expenditures Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and supporting documentation Record additions, disposals, transfers, and other asset activity Support CapEx reporting and analysis while improving asset system reporting capabilities Payroll & Compliance Review payroll journal entries and accruals for accuracy Support sales and use tax filings and vendor compliance documentation Assist with internal controls, audits, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies Systems & Process Improvement Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes Improve reporting workflows and system utilization Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance accounting tools, documentation, and knowledge transfer Requirements Bachelor’s degree Working knowledge of accounting principles Strong Excel fundamentals and analytical skills Why This Role is Exciting This is more than a traditional accounting role—it’s an opportunity to own foundational accounting processes while helping modernize and strengthen the Finance function.
