Responsibilities
- Manage the accounts payable function, prepare check runs and manual checks
- Maintain the accounts receivable (A/R) subsidiary records within the accounting software package
- Prepare and enter monthly revenue entries
- Enter general ledger entries including payroll, 403(b) and travel
- Prepare and enter A/R and revenue receipts to subsidiary and general ledgers
- Deposit checks into the agency's bank account using appropriate banking equipment and software and maintain the checkbook
- Prepare monthly bills and periodic statements to applicable state departments
- Assist the Accounting Manager in managing the allocations of shared costs among the various programs
- Track billing from subcontractors compared to approved contractual limits
- Track billings to state agencies compared to approved contractual limits
- Maintain and balance petty cash
- Check Payment Voucher report and inform Case Managers of consumers who did not receive any services during the month who were not on suspend.
- Participate in the cross-training of job duties in the Fiscal Department and provide coverage in the absence of other Fiscal Department staff
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in related field with over three years of relevant experience working in an accounting department
- High school diploma, or equivalent, with over five years of relevant experience working in an accounting department
