About the role
At Workday, our Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of our leading cloud platform for finance and HR. Responsibilities
- Handle daily general ledger maintenance, reconciling accounts and posting journal entries with meticulous attention to detail.
- Prepare weekly financial statements and variance analyses, collaborating closely with finance managers and cross-functional teams like sales and operations to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closes, performing account reconciliations for bank statements, credit cards, and fixed assets.
- Support audit preparations by compiling documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Track key metrics such as expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and deferred revenue, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes, generating reports using advanced ERP systems.
- Mentor junior staff on best practices, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency in our fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification strongly preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS or technology company.
- Proficiency in financial software like Workday Financial Management, Excel advanced functions, and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and US GAAP.
- Experience in high-volume transaction environments and audit coordination.
