Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will provide hands-on accounting leadership and support the Agency in managing its funding to strengthen communities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records and reports
• Perform account reconciliation
• Support grant/contract management
• Manage the monthly accounting cycle including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed asset, accounts receivable, and cash management
• Prepare budgets
• Handle payroll
• Prepare audit documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
• One to three years of previous accounting experience in non-profit or governmental accounting, or a master's degree preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP, Fund Accounting, and OMB requirements
• Ability to evaluate fiscal systems and identify improvements
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Organizational and time management skills
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, internet, and email
• Experience with Abila MIP software preferred
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
• Valid driver's license
• Clearance through DHS NetStudy or equivalent

Pay

$34.05 per hour

Schedule

Non-Exempt, Day Shift, Monday – Friday, Partially Remote
