Accountant
Job Summary
The Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining the hospital's financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. This position requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare finance environment.
What You Will Do
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll.
- Aid in the preparation of financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and assisting in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and policies, including tax regulations and healthcare financial reporting requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and cost analysis to provide insights for decision-making and performance improvement.
- Absorb financial audits, including coordinating with auditors, providing documentation, and addressing audit findings.
- Maintain records of hospital assets, including depreciation schedules and capital expenditure tracking.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial operations and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
What You Will Need
- Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Preferred
- Experience: 3 years Accounting or finance experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.

The hourly pay range for this position is $28.47 - $42.71, which is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
