Accountant

Compensation: $90,000 to $115,000 annually
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Workplace Setting: Fully onsite

About the role

The Accountant will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions for our clients. Accountants prepare financial reports, perform research and analysis, maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations and month-end procedures. The ideal candidate has a general understanding and experience in all areas of the accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain full book of business and ensure YoY renewals by driving value through 10X FS
• Provide clients with clear financial insights to support strategic decision-making
• Complete accurate and timely month-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies in all accounting activities
• Clear transactions daily for soft reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements for accuracy and completeness
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, balance sheets, and General Ledger on a monthly basis
• Implement and improve internal controls with internal stakeholders
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff
• Develop and maintain documentation for accounting procedures
• Manage the chart of accounts to ensure proper classification of transactions
• Ensure all clients in the book of business financials are closed by the 15th of each month
• Retain 90% client retention year over year by delivering extraordinary results
• Conduct client calls based on the client’s scope of work
• Perform peer reviews of clients' financials within the department

Requirements

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks Online
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Strong time management including prioritization, planning, delegation, and problem-solving
• Effective communication skills to explain accounting principles in a way clients can implement
• Ability to create correction strategies to ensure clients' financials accurately reflect their business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• 5+ years of general accounting experience
