Accountant Hiring Requirements
We are currently seeking an accurate, experienced, and detail-oriented Accountant to join our rapidly growing company. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks including accounts receivable/payable, ledger reconciliation, expense reporting, and audit support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accuracy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to maintaining our firm’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in-person
- Generate and manage billing statements and financial reports
- Aid with monthly, quarterly, and annual audits
- Review and approve employee expense reports
- Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly
- Contribute to forecasting and budget planning sessions
- Ensure full compliance with federal and provincial accounting regulations
- Support the Senior Accountant and collaborate across departments
- Maintain high standards of client service and confidentiality
Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an accountant or bookkeeper in a corporate setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
- Experience with corporate and personal tax filing
- Familiarity with inventory-based businesses
- Prior experience with audits and budgeting
