General Summary

The Accountant role at Benton REA is a full-time position that will be permanently based in the newly opened West Richland office in July 2026. The position offers an excellent benefit package including 100% company-paid family insurance, generous leave, and a 4x10 work schedule.

Key Emphases

The Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position supports the cooperative's financial health and contributes to strategic decision-making through timely and precise accounting practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Three (3) years of accounting experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Desirable Qualifications

• Master's degree in accounting or related field
• Experience with annual organization-wide budget processes
• RUS and FERC accounting practices and principles
• Financial statement preparation and analysis
• Strong team player
• Forward thinking, with a drive towards process improvement, efficiency, excellence
• Strong technical aptitude
